THE HISTORY OF THE JR. MISSIONARY DEPARTMENT 2 - 3
Our founder, Bishop W.E. Fuller, Jr., deliberated for years about this addition to
our church, and finally, it became a reality. The Jr. Missionary Department was organized on June 8, 1974, during the 21st Quadrennial General Council. They helped build the Headquarters in Jamaica West Indies, and continue to support and take care of the building there. Two National Directresses were
appointed, Sis. Pelma Elliott was assigned to the Northern Diocese and Sis. Cleve Mack was assigned to the Southern Diocese.
The Jr. Missionary Department is to the Fire Baptized Holiness Church what basic training is to the armed forces. We prepare young people for the battlefield of life. Our only weapon is our sword, the Word of God.
In 1978 three National Directresses were appointed. Sis. Cleve Mack, Chairlady, assigned to the First Episcopal Diocese, Sis. Pelma Elliott was assigned to the Second Episcopal Diocese, and Sis. Demetri Braxton was assigned to the Third Episcopal Diocese. During the annual convention of
1979, District Directresses of the Jr. Missionary Department were appointed to each District and this has really been a blessing to our church. During the interim of the General Council, in 1983, Sis. Brenda O. Conley was assigned National Directress of the Second Episcopal Diocese.
We are the only organization in our church not required to report to conventions or District officers, except for special projects. Our first project was to build a headquarters in Jamaica West Indies. In 1976 we carried $500.00 to Jamaica to start a Building Fund. In 1977, we had $1,100.00 which we used to erect a small building for worship since the church had been destroyed. In January 1988, we dedicated the W.E. Fuller, Jr. Headquarters and Mission Home in Jamaica, West Indies.
Our Senior Bishop permitted us to hold our first Jr. Missionary Day service at
the Sisters of Charity Convention in 1976.
The second Saturday in February has been instituted as our National Prayer Day since 1981 by our Senior Bishop and has been observed each year since that time.
During the 26th Quadrennial General Council, Sis. Cleve Mack, Chairlady, was assigned to the First Episcopal Diocese, Sis. Demetri Braxton to the Second and Sis. Brenda O. Conley to the Third.
In June 2002, during the 28th Quadrennial General Council, Sis. Demetri
Braxton was appointed as the Chairlady.
During the 30th Quadrennial General Council in June 2010, Sis. Cleve Mack was made National Jr. Missionary Directress Emeritus, and Sister Sharon James was appointed National Jr. Missionary Directress of the First Episcopal Diocese.
In June 2014, in the 31 st Quadrennial General Council, Sis. Demetri Braxton and Sis. Brenda O. Conley were both made National Jr. Missionary Emeritus. Sis. Sharon James was appointed as the Chairlady and National Directress of the First Episcopal Diocese, Sis. Regina Raiford was appointed as
National Jr. Missionary Directress of the Second Episcopal Diocese, and Sis. Rosa B. Sutton was appointed as National Jr. Missionary Directress of the Third Episcopal Diocese.
In June 2022, at the 33rd Quadrennial General Council, Sis. Rosa B. Sutton was elevated to serve as the Chairlady of the National Jr. Missionary Department and National Directress of the Third Episcopal Diocese. is. Regina Raiford was appointed as the National Jr. Missionary Directress of the Second Episcopal Diocese, and Sis. Diane Knowles was appointed as the National Jr. Missionary Directress of the First Episcopal Diocese.
The Jr. Missionary Department is growing and going for the Fire Baptized Holiness Church of God of the Americas. We are telling young people
everywhere to “Be A Missionary Everyday.”
OUR OBJECTIVE - 4
To serve this present age by motivating action, simulating thought, and making the Junior Mission
purposeful through personal interaction and projects. These projects will prayerfully encourage the Junior Elite Ladies to become Senior Elite Ladies. Our goal is to provide a series of team-building activities with a primary focus on bringing souls to the kingdom. This vision would include small groups representative of all three dioceses. In this way, we aim to evade division and promote collaboration between dioceses. Being in small groups will provide the various districts to concentrate and focus on the objectives, aim, and purpose.

WHAT IS OUR AIM? - 5
The Junior Missionary Department is built on four central foundational stones: Bible Preparation, Time,
Resource Persons, and Intriguing Projects. Junior Missionary education is a learning process in which
Juniors gain insight through doing.
1. To teach that Christ is the Savior needed for the whole world.
2. To emphasize God's missionary plan for the world.
3. To teach that "Mission" includes our homes, communities,
towns, cities, as well as foreign fields.
4. To help Junior Missionaries be emphatic, sympathetic, and
interested in the needs of others.
5. To teach that giving of oneself and praying are important
elements of our responsibility to missions.
6. To reiterate the term "Missionary" includes all Christians---
not just those who actually go to a foreign country.
7. To usher youth and young adults to a place where they will
one day say, from their hearts, "HERE AM I, SEND ME."

JR. MISSIONARY THEME SONG - 7
Be a missionary every day
Tell the world that Jesus is the way
Be it in the town or country or the busy avenue
Africa or Asia, the task is up to you
So, be a missionary every day
Tell the world that Jesus is the way
The Lord is soon returning There is no time to lose
So, be a missionary, God’s own emissary
Be a missionary today! LET'S GO!!!!!!!
JR. MISSIONARY QUOTE - 7
Vision without work is Visionary.
Work without vision is Mercenary.
Vision and Work are MISSIONARY.
How to Read & Understand the Bible/ Evangelism/Soul Winning/Keeping It 100% - 8
Reading and Understanding Scripture
1. Pray before starting.
2. Focus on single verses or small passages. The next
few steps concern ways to read the text itself.
3. Read whole chapters at a time.
4. Read whole books.
5. Use a study Bible.
6. Try different translations.
7. Use a Bible Application and listen to the Bible.
8. Get a Bible In One Year.
Four steps to how to read and understand the Bible:
1. Read the Bible
2. Study the Bible
3. Memorize the Bible
4. Meditate on the Bible
EVANGELISM
1. Evangelism is a process, not an event - one way does not fit all
2. Make evangelism personal - what has Jesus done for you?
3. Put your faith to work
4. Fundamental is key: How to present the Gospel, how to build
relationships, and how to lead others to Jesus Christ
6. Pray before you go
7. Be a living example
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power
of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first,
and also to the Greek." Romans 1:16
