FAMILY LIFE EDUCATION THEME
A. THEME: We should each strive to grow in the four areas, “Wisdom, Stature, Favor
with God and Men.” Luke 2:52. Family is like branches on a tree. We all grow in different directions yet our roots remain.

B. FOCUS: FAITH, FAMILY, HOME/HOUSEHOLD, AND
RELATIONSHIP
FAITH: Your belief. “But without faith it is impossible to please God...” Hebrews 11:6
FAMILY: A family is like a circle; the connection never ends.
HOME/HOUSEHOLD: Having somewhere to go is home. Having someone to love is
family. Having both is a blessing.
Family Life Education Colors
“Red - White – Green”
- Red – Shed blood of Jesus. The price of our salvation, Hebrews 9:22
- White - Purity of the Holy Ghost. “However, when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth.” John 16:13.
- Green- Promoting healthy couple, parent and family Growth.”… “I am come
that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly” , John 10:10
C. Family Life Education (FLE): FLE is any organized effort to provide family members with information, skills, experiences, and is intended to strengthen, improve or enrich their family through participation in these three fundamental area:
- EDUCATION - FLE takes an educational rather than therapeutic approach.
- COLLABORATION - FLE is based on the needs of individuals and their families through professionals and family members collaborating together.
- PREVENTION - Family Life Education is relevant to individuals and families
throughout the life span because it focuses on prevention.
Underlying the practice of family life education is a basic belief in the importance
of family living and a basic respect for persons that recognizes their ability to take charge
of their own lives in satisfying ways. Through educational programs, training and
workshops, family life education makes an important contribution toward strengthening
families to fulfill their significant role as the basic unit of society.
