Bishop Johnnie L. Davis, Sr. is a native of Gaston, SC. He is the son of the late Woodrow W. Davis, Sr. and the late Frances Sutton Davis. He is the seventh of seven children, two of whom are deceased.
Bishop Davis was educated in the public-school system of Lexington county SC. He’s1967 graduate of Monroe Pinckney High School, Swansea SC, graduating valedictorian and was voted most likely to succeed. He was an honor roll student throughout elementary and high school.
Bishop Davis received his Bachelor of Science degree In Organizational Management from Claflin University, Orangeburg, SC and a Masters degree in Bible Exposition from Columbia International University, Columbia, SC. Bishop Davis received a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbia International University. He taught at the Fuller Normal School of religion for more than 15 years and was appointed dean by Bishop William Edward Fuller, Jr. in 2007.
On June 11, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Hallman. To this union were born four children, Julian Michele Kemp, Johnnie L. Davis, Jr., Melandie L. Walton, and Anthony Bernard Davis (deceased). Bishop and Mrs. Davis are the proud grandparents of four grandsons and one granddaughter. They also boast of being the great grand-parents of three great granddaughters and one great grandson.
Bishop Davis was saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1970 at his home church, Little Zion FBH Church in Gaston, SC, where he currently attends when not traveling.

June 19, 2010, elected by the 30th Quadrennial General Council of the FBH Church to become the Presiding Prelate of the 2nd Episcopal Diocese.
