Mother Annie Odessa Whack McCoy

Biography
Mother Annie Odessa Whack McCoy was born in Manning, South Carolina, her parents are the late Deacon Myer and National Mother Annie Martin Whack. She is the eldest of seven. She accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior at an early age and joined Mt. Calvary F.B.H. Church, Manning, South Carolina.
Upon graduation from High School, she went to Washington, D.C., to further her education. She joined Tried Stone FBH Church under the leadership of the late National Mother P. M. Fuller. She graduated from Cortez W. Peters Business School and Jericho Christian College. Also, she attended Washington Bible College, Lanham, Maryland and Winston-Salem Bible College, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She holds a Bachelor of Art Degree in Theology, from New Life Theological Seminary, Charlotte, North Carolina.
Mother McCoy served as Church Clerk, Ambassador for Christ, Directress of Religious Education, established a scholarship fund for students of the Central North Carolina District, Vacation Bible School Coordinator, served as District President of the Central North Carolina District for 21 years: Served as Secretary for the past five Quadrennial General Council. She is a member of the Executive Council, Fuller Normal School Board and the Board of Publications. She was awarded the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Community Service Award in Thomasville. Mother served with her husband in the ministry for 43 years.
In 2014, appointed National Mother of the First Episcopal Diocese; in 2019, Mother McCoy was appointed Chairperson of the Bishop’s Awards Appreciation. On March 29, 2020 appointed Interim Chairlady of the Missionary Department. In December 2020 she was awarded the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Divinity.
In June 2022, National Mother Odessa W. McCoy was appointed as Chairlady of the Missionary Department (Sisters of Charity) and National Mother of the Second Episcopal Diocese.
Mother McCoy is the proud parent of two adult sons: Mike and Marvin. Mike is an accomplished minister of music and a recording artist. His wife, Cathy, is an elementary school teacher. Marvin and his wife Veda are the founding pastors of Judah Christian Center, Suitland, MD; Marvin is a musician, songwriter and works with the D.C. Government; Veda is a principal. She has five grandchildren: Britney, Tiffany, Johntae, Marvin Myer and Marshall III, and four greatgrandchildren Jeniya, Lyric, Kaysic and Madison.
Presently, Mother McCoy serves as pastor of Zion Tabernacle FBH Church, Thomasville, North Carolina and Chairlady of the Missionary Department.
